Booking Aftershock

Before booking Aftershock for your function,
please consider the following..

1. Volume and your venue - Please check with your venue that they are used to live function bands and ask if they have any issues with neighbours complaining of noise.  A band is loud and it is too late once the special day has arrived to make changes. Please inform us if the venue has a preset noise limiter before the day and we can discuss the options. Remember you are paying a lot of money to have one of the areas finest bands (that's us) play at your function. You must get the most out of us!!

2. Stage facilities -  Please check with your venue that there is sufficient room for the band. Aftershock ask for an area at least 12ft deep by 20ft wide. If this is not possible then please inform us and we will try to work around it. It is also asked for the hirers to check with the venue that they have an electrical system safe and powerful enough to supply power for a band and lighting system.

3. Sound desk - Aftershock always use a professional sound man to ensure excellent sound level and balance. He will be positioned somewhere in front of the stage, usually at least 20 feet from the stage, to the side or rear of the dance floor, as he has to hear a balanced sound. We ask that if there is a seating plan, an area is set aside for this purpose.

 4. Volume and your guests - Aftershock are a powerful function band that play music to keep a dance floor full. Their sets are not background music, so if you are looking for a band to play quietly in the corner please keep looking. Although we will work with our hirers to ensure that needs are met and that an excellent night is had by all, it is not a good idea to place tables/guests directly in front of our speakers as later complaints that guests are unable to hold a conversation leave the band speechless!!!.. YES THIS HAS HAPPENED!!

5. Band facilities - On most occasions the band will have travelled some distance to set up during the day so that they have time to sound check and leave the stage prepared to play. It is asked that a room to change in is provided and also refreshments are considered at locations isolated from towns/villages.

VOLUME A PROBLEM?

Many problems venues have is the volume of live music!!... The main offender being the drummer!!??

Fear not as Gav, our main man, has the option of playing his acoustic kit (the normal one..) or his electric drum kit, with volume control... a blessing for both venue and other band members suffering hearing loss, due to many years of gigging next to drum kits!!!!
